Electra Townie Balloon 8i

Every ride is a great ride on Electra's Townie Balloon 8i! It boasts fat 2.35-inch-wide tires for smooth, easy cruising and Electra's step-through aluminum frame with their Flat Foot Technology, which means you're super comfortable and can always reach the ground. You'll also love the slick Shimano Nexus 8-speed drivetrain that lets you cruise over the hills. It's low maintenance, silent, simple to use and you can even shift while you're stopped. Other highlights include the plush seat, upright handlebars and confidence-inspiring Shimano roller brakes that stop you quickly and safely in the wet and dry.

    Comments:

I have been riding seriously for about 25 years. I've had custom made triathlon bikes and several Cannondale Mountain Bikes. A few years ago I started having back problems which led to two major operations, the last being a three level fusion in the lumbar region. I had quit riding because I could not deal with the pain associated with bending forward on my bikes. My wife wanted a new bike that had a cruiser style riding position. After some internet research, I found Electra Bikes and bought her the Townie Balloon 3. I tried it and found I could ride in the upright position this bike is designed with. So I bought myself the 8 speed and have been riding it for over two years now. The upright position, combined with the Balloon tires make this the perfect bike for riders suffering with low back pain.
