    Comments:

First of all, I'm tall. I'm 6'5" and 245lbs. I've been searching for a tall mans beach cruiser and having a really hard time finding good information. The Electra website, and the tech support people were not much help. The website specs did not provide weights, frame dimensions, or the difference in size from the standard frame to tall frame. The only web search referencing a bike actually designed for tall guys was the Sixthreezero In the Barrel bike. It's all steel, no aluminum, and is only available via mail order from Amazon, or beachbikes.net. I found this bike at Brielle Cyclery in Brielle, NJ. Our sales person, Laurel, was fantastic, as was all of the staff. Laurel located a tall frame cruiser 1 and had it assembled for me so I could ride it, and compare it to the standard size frame. I was sold immediately. So here's my opinion on the bike: The Electra Men's Beach Cruiser 1 (Tall Frame) is about 4" longer than the standard frame in length, and about 1-1/2" taller in height. The crank placement has been move forward about 3". This places the pedals in a much more comfortable position without feeling like the peddles are directly underneath you. The handlebar placement is good. No need to add a riser for a comfortable position. The stock seat post allows roughly 4" of adjustment. I raised the post to about ¾" below the limit line. This allows my knees to be at about 80 degrees bent in the up pedal position. I can still raise the seat another ¾" without exceeding the maximum height. You can always add an extended seat post if desired. The bike is not available in an aluminum frame. That's a bit of a bummer if you live at the beach. The steel frame, rims, handlebars, and chain guard, are all painted matte-black, with a green pin stripe. The saddle is a dual spring semi-wide all weather seat. It's okay, but after a 10 mile ride this morning I think I may go wider with gel saddle. Other add-ons will probably include fenders, a cup holder, and surfboard rack. My overall opinion is that it's a great bike for the money, and I recommend it for tall guys that are looking for a solid cruiser. Brielle Cyclery was awesome. We also bought an Electra Hawaii 1 Ladies.
